From routine surgeries such as spaying and neutering to advanced procedures, our skilled surgeons can tackle any issue with the highest level of precision and care. We may, sometimes, refer you to another clinic for a specific type of surgery that we feel would be more suited to your pet’s condition.
Most surgeries require some pre-anesthetic tests, so we might ask you to come in an hour or so before the surgery is scheduled. Your cat or dog will be given safe anesthetics, and their vitals will be monitored throughout the process by a trained and registered technician, including post-operative care with proper pain medication.
Soft Tissue Surgery
At Aurora North Pet Clinic, we perform various soft tissue surgeries for your pet, ranging from gastrointestinal to cardiothoracic. Our surgeons are trained and experienced and will ensure that your pet is treated properly in emergency and non-emergency situations. You may be asked to have some pre-surgery diagnostic tests taken in order for us to provide suitable treatment options.
Surgery is a distressing time for both the pet and the pet owner. We will communicate with you throughout the process and give you a post-operative care plan so that you know how to handle your pet once discharged. You will be guided about pain medication during the recovery period and the precautions you need to take once you take your pet home. Orthopedic Surgery
Orthopedic surgery refers to bone surgery. If your pet has encountered a fall or a hit from a vehicle, we advise you to bring them into our vet clinic immediately so that we can examine the injury and treat it before it worsens. Sometimes a small hit can lead to a lifelong disability, so it is important that you bring your pet in for a check-up. It may be that only a simple period of rest will do the trick, but sometimes surgery may become inevitable.
Cryosurgery
Cryosurgery involves using extremely hot or cold temperatures to remove skin tags and growths. It is a relatively painless procedure and does not take too much time.
